L-Methylfolate: Key PointsDr. Ben Lynch, L-Methylfolate: What, When, Why and How.
• The job of L-Methylfolate is to support methylation.
• Without available L-methylfolate, your methylation cycle struggles.
• As a result, your homocysteine levels may climb up above 7.
• Lowering your homocysteine with just L-methylfolate may work but unlikely.
• We all need some L-Methylfolate.
MethyltransferaseL. Lennard, Biotransformation, in Comprehensive Toxicology, 2010.
The methyltransferases are an eclectic mix of enzymes of which the majority, over 95%, uses S-adenosyl-l-methionine (SAM-e aka Ado-Met) as the methyl donor. The basic methyl transfer reaction is the catalytic attack of a nucleophile (carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, or sulfur) on a methyl group to form methylated derivatives of proteins, lipids, polysaccharides, nucleic acids, and various small molecules.
What Are the Six Main Elements in Living Organisms?Kevin Beck, Which Elements Are Found in Living Organisms? Apr 30, 2018.
Six elements on the periodic table account for 97 percent of your body’s mass: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur and phosphorus. Not coincidentally, these elements exist in great abundance in the Milky Way galaxy and beyond.
Heavy Metal DetoxNiwali, Heavy Metal Detox, Jan 22, 2013.
Garlic, MSM, cilantro, chlorella, and n acetylcysteine (NAC) are all powerful detoxification agents that can be taken on a daily basis to help remove heavy metals from your system. Although these foods and supplements are generally considered “safe and natural,” do check with your doctor to make sure that they won’t interact negatively with any medications you’re taking. In addition, n-acetylcysteine should be taken with two to three times the vitamin C to avoid possible side effects.
Sulfur Combines with More ElementsSulfur For Health, Organic Sulfur.
No other element including oxygen has more of an ability to combine with other elements than sulfur due to its molecular structure. All the metals except gold and platinum combine with sulfur to form inorganic sulfides. Sulfur combines with Aluminum to form Aluminum Sulfate, it combines with Barium to form Barium Sulfate, and it combines with Strontium to form Strontium Sulfate. None of these compounds can stay in the body, they are safely removed, and so is mercury!
