Are you content to sit in your easy chair while your ability to research and obtain objective health information is being restricted? The swift response by Facebook, Twitter, Google, and YouTube to delete video testimonials by a group of physicians who call themselves America’s Frontline Doctors who dared to discuss hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) as a viable cure for COVID-19 is just another indication of the collusion that exists between the tech giants and Big Pharma in controlling the flow of health-related information, as noted by the following sentence from Who is Stella Immanuel and America’s Frontline Doctors who claim hydroxychloroquine is a ‘cure’ for Covid-19? by Anuka Roy posted on July 27, 2020:
The video which was published on Breitbart News’ Twitter page has been pulled down by the platform stating, “This tweet is no longer available”.

These days, it is quite common to be told that your web submission has been removed for violating community guidelines because it does not parrot the guidelines endorsed by global health agencies such as the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Moreover, your ‘violation’ is likely to result in the suspension or removal of your account, as noted by these two examples:

Twitter suspends Donald Trump Jr
Twitter’s suspension of Donald J. Trump’s account
Del Bigtree YouTube Channel Got Deleted
YouTube’s removal of Del Bigtree’s channel

Top-tier social media firms are blatantly restricting our ability to conduct objective research of vital and controversial health issues. To skew results, they flag and ban various keywords and tags such as ‘cancer cures’ from being used as Internet search terms. With their censorship practices, these companies are violating the long-held principles of free speech and freedom of the press.  Their reliance on questionable fact checkers such as Snopes and PolitiFact produces search results dictated by biased news sources such as Google and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

In their efforts to control the flow of information, they act in lockstep with leading corporate media (e.g., CNN, NPR, CNBC, The New York Times, The Guardian, The Atlantic, Forbes); agencies such as the IMF, the World Bank Group, the World Economic Forum, UN, WHO, and CDC; and influential think tanks such as the Center for American Progress, which published an Aug 18, 2020 report entitled, “Fighting Coronavirus Misinformation and Disinformation” that included these recommendations:

With an eye toward proactively reducing mis/disinformation around the coronavirus crisis, this report makes specific recommendations of product changes that increase friction—anything that inhibits user action within a digital interface—and provide greater context… Examples of changes recommended include:

• Virality circuit breakers. Platforms should detect, label, suspend algorithmic amplification, and prioritize rapid review and fact-checking of trending coronavirus content that displays reliable misinformation markers, which can be drawn from the existing body of coronavirus mis/disinformation.
• Scan-and-suggest features. Platforms should develop privacy-sensitive features to scan draft posts, detect drafts discussing the coronavirus, and suggest quality information to users or provide them cues about being thoughtful or aware of trending mis/disinformation prior to publication.
• Subject matter context additions. Social media platforms should embed quality information and relevant fact checks around posts on coronavirus topics.
C.J. Hopkins succinctly identified the overt level of totalitarian censorship that is imposed in a post called “Invasion of the New Normals” that contained these two sentences:

In the New Normal society they want to establish, as in every totalitarian society, fear and conformity will be pervasive… That is what totalitarianism is, this desire to establish complete control over everything and everyone, every thought, emotion, and human interaction.

More Examples of Censorship

On Aug 17, 2020, the Collective Evolution published Arjun Walla’s report entitled, “We Have A Lot of Evidence That It’s A Fake Story All Over The World – German Doctors on COVID-19” that contained the following paragraph:

More than 500 German doctors & scientists have signed on as representatives of an organization called the “Corona Extra-Parliamentary Inquiry Committee” to investigate what’s happening on our planet with regards to COVID-19. Why are so many professionals and experts in the field being censored, ridiculed and shut down by organizations like the WHO? Should we not have the right to examine information openly, freely, and transparently?

On Aug 18, 2020, Children’s Health Defense posted a stunning report entitled, “CHD Legal Team Led by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Sues Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, and Three of Facebook’s So-Called Fact-Checkers” that contained the following revelation:

Children’s Health Defense (CHD) filed a lawsuit on Monday in San Francisco Federal Court charging Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, and three fact-checking outfits with censoring truthful public health posts and for fraudulently misrepresenting and defaming CHD. According to CHD’s Complaint, Facebook has insidious conflicts with the Pharmaceutical industry and its captive health agencies and has economic stakes in telecom and 5G. Facebook acknowledges that it coordinates its censorship campaign with the WHO and the CDC. While earlier court decisions have upheld Facebook’s right to censor its pages, CHD argues that Facebook’s pervasive government collaborations make its censorship of CHD a First Amendment violation.

What Can We Do?

Don’t give up and give in to the censors. Take the time to carve out a presence and following on alternative social media platforms, such as:

   DuckDuckGo:

Note: I have read claims that DuckDuckGo uses the Google search engine.
