Reader says, I started taking organic sulfur a few weeks ago after I read how it can help people like myself who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. Nothing seems to have changed in my overall health since I started taking the supplement and I’m feeling frustrated. How soon should I expect to see results?
In contrast to our fast-paced, modern world where we have become accustomed to having immediate access to digitally-encoded information, the current state of our health has taken years, if not decades, to manifest as part of our everyday experience. While Organic Sulfur provides a bioavailable source of an essential nutrient that is largely deficient in our diet, it should not be looked upon as an instant cure-all for everything that ails us.
Let’s step back and review some important factors.
1. Average length of time for human cells to regenerate.
Our cells replicate at varying rates, depending upon their function in the body. Organs that work the hardest are replaced at a faster rate. For example, colon cells refresh themselves in 4 days, while we shed our old skin in a matter of 2-4 weeks. In contrast, our liver cells are renewed every few years, while we are able to grow a brand new skeleton in about 10 years.
This video entitled “Does Your Body Replace Itself Every 7 Years?” provides an overview of the process.
Cynthia Sass describes the general concept is her report entitled, “Why You Really Are What You Eat.”
The phrase, “you are what you eat” is literally true. Nutrients from the foods you eat food provide the foundation of the structure, function, and integrity of every little cell in your body, from your skin and hair to your muscles, bones, digestive and immune systems. You may not feel it, but you’re constantly repairing, healing and rebuilding your body.
In a report entitled, “Foods to Avoid with Arthritis,” HealthLine suggests an arthritis-fighting diet that minimizes fried and processed foods, sugars and refined carbohydrates, dairy products, alcohol and tobacco, and items containing preservatives.
In addition, Dr. Mercola’s 2012 report entitled, “The Lies You’re Told about Genetically Engineered Foods” linked several autoimmune maladies such as rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and osteoporosis to elevated levels of the IL-6 interleukins that are present in GMO (genetically engineered) corn oil and high fructose corn syrup.
3. Daily water intake
The most common reason why customers report an adverse reaction to taking organic sulfur or don’t notice much in the way of a health benefit is that they don’t drink enough water commensurate with their body weight. Organic sulfur flushes toxins out of the body through the bowels. At Organic Sulfur For Health, we recommend a daily regimen of one ounce (29.6 ml) of water for every two pounds (0.9 kg) of body weight. For example, if you weigh 128 pounds (58 kg), our recommended daily water intake would be 64 ounces (1.9 liters).
Avoid drinking chlorinated water, for chlorine blocks the uptake of sulfur. If your primary or only source of drinking water is from the tap, either obtain water from the hot faucet side (and let it cool off) or let the water sit for at least an hour before dissolving your organic sulfur crystals.
Fluoride has been a common addition to municipal water sources since the end of World War II, and consumers should avoid drinking fluoridated water due to its many health risks, as noted in this chart provided by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology:
4. Adverse interactions with medications or other supplements
Pills and capsules typically contain additives and extra ingredients such as silicon dioxide or calcium stearate that can neutralize the positive health benefits of organic sulfur. For this reason, we recommend taking all meds and supplements at least 30 minutes after you finish drinking your organic sulfur beverage to allow sufficient time for sulfur to enter your lymphatic system.
It is not uncommon for customers to combine organic sulfur with other supplements under the assumption that they are enhancing their results by doing so. For instance, Cancer Tutor has published a vitamin C plus organic sulfur protocol specifically for cancer patients.
Per Dr. Mercola’s 2016 report entitled, “The Benefits of Sulfur — Why You Need Epsom Salt, Broccoli and MSM,” organic sulfur enables our bodies to synthesize important metabolic intermediates, such as glutathione (the master antioxidant), S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), and a sulfur-containing amino acid called taurine. In addition, my supplier, Patrick McGean, stated that organic sulfur helps our body produce two B vitamins: thiamine (B1) and biotin (B7).
Because organic sulfur enables our bodies to synthesize these important vitamins and amino acids, customers should take a cautionary approach when consuming other supplements. For instance, Dr. Axe offers this warning in his report entitled, “What Is Taurine In? Taurine Foods and Products.”
It’s been noted that too much taurine may cause bipolar disorder to worsen over time.
For this reason, you may want to consult with your doctor or a natural health practitioner in your area if you are unsure of the efficacy or need to take a specific dietary supplement along with organic sulfur.
Indicators that organic sulfur is providing a health benefit
Here are five questions to ask yourself to assess the impact of organic sulfur on your health:
1. Do you feel that you have more energy?
2. Are you more “regular” (not constipated)?
3. Are you sleeping better?
4. Do you have dreams during sleep?
5. Do you dream in color?
If you can answer ‘yes’ to at least four of the questions, it is usually a indication that organic sulfur is regenerating your cells in a healthy manner.
Taking digital photos of your face from the top of your head to the base of your neck over a span of several weeks or months is another way to determine whether organic sulfur is having a positive effect. If you notice scars going away or getting smaller, then you are observing one of the health benefits of taking the product. Another indicator is if you begin to receive unexpected compliments about your youthful appearance from friends, co-workers, and family members.
