In this familiar nursery rhyme (Little Miss Muffet / Sat on a tuffet / Eating her curds and whey) are two ingredients that can be used as part of the Budwig Diet, one of the alternative cancer protocols mentioned in the Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest video documentary.
Based on decades of meticulous research conducted by Nobel Prize nominee Dr. Johanna Budwig (1908-2003), the Budwig Diet (or Protocol) consists of flaxseed oil that is mixed with a sulfur-rich protein food such as cottage cheese, yogurt, kefir, or whey powder. Considered one of the foremost authorities on fats and oils, Dr. Budwig was a noted European cancer research scientist, biochemist, blood specialist, pharmacologist, and physicist. In 1952 she was named by the German government as its senior expert for fats and pharmaceutical drugs.
Her dietary protocol enabled so-called “untreatable” and “terminally ill” cancer patients in Germany to fully recover by ingesting her non-toxic food blend that caused no side effects. During her lifetime, her success rate exceeded 90%, which included the most terminally ill patients. Her unorthodox way of treating cancer and other diseases did not receive the endorsement or approval of the drug companies, the mainstream medical community, and the nuclear industry, which have collectively suppressed her technique to the present day.
How Does The Budwig Diet Work?
We’ve all heard the age-old expression that oil and water do not mix. Flaxseed contains an essential fatty acid known as omega-3 that possesses anti-inflammatory and healing properties due to its electron-rich, unsaturated fat content. The sole goal of the Budwig Diet is to transform oil-soluble omega-3 fatty acids into water-soluble omega-3’s that energize cells by restoring their natural electrical balance. In her research, Dr. Budwig discovered that when she combined quark (a crumbly cheese comparable to cottage cheese) with flaxseed oil, a chemical reaction occurs; the oil becomes water-soluble which can then be transported into the cell membranes.
Omega-3’s and omega-6’s are the two essential fatty acids that the body must obtain from food in order to ensure the health of every cell. However, most people who subsist on a Western diet are consuming a preponderance of omega-6 fats (primarily corn, maize, olive, safflower, and sunflower oil) and not enough omega-3’s — an imbalance that can lead to chronic inflammation. Moreover, many omega-6 fats are chemically altered by commercial processing which destroys their unsaturated qualities and electron fields that the cell membranes need in order to function properly. Many illnesses result from diseased cells that lack their normal electrical balance. When the fats in our bodies aren’t able to metabolize properly, every organ and vital function is adversely affected.
As Mike Vrentas noted in his report entitled, “The Budwig Diet Protocol – The Treatment of Cancer and Other Diseases,”
Our bodies produce over 500 million new cells daily. Dr. Budwig points out that in growing new cells, there is a dipolarity between the electrically positive nucleus and the electrically negative cell membrane with its high unsaturated fatty acids. During cell division, the cell and new daughter cell must contain enough electron rich fatty acids in the cells surface area to divide off completely from the old cell. When this process is interrupted, the body begins to die. In essence, these commercially processed fats and oils are shutting down the electrical field of the cells, allowing chronic and terminal diseases to take hold of our bodies.

Ingesting two simple foods, cottage cheese and flaxseed oil, facilitates the dissolution of tumors and disease symptoms by reactivating the electrical field within the cells so that they no longer act like a ‘dead battery.’ Internal organs such as the liver, pancreas, stomach glands, and intestinal tract begin to function as they should, once the diet has removed the stagnated growth process. As a source of fuel, heart muscle cells prefer fatty acids over glucose sugar. Combining flaxseed oil with protein makes for a superfood that can be eaten at any time of the day.
During her lifetime, Dr. Budwig used her protocol to successfully treat other chronic illnesses such as arthritis, heart disease, psoriasis, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, stomach ulcers, and strokes.
The Basic Budwig Protocol Recipe
4 tablespoons cottage cheese (or yogurt or kefir)
2 tablespoons cold-pressed flaxseed oil
Use an immersion blender or similar device to mix the ingredients
The rule of thumb is one tablespoon of oil for every two tablespoons of cottage cheese. If you are allergic to milk products such as cottage cheese or yogurt, substitute a protein powder that contains the sulfur-based amino acids methionine and cysteine that help the body ingest the protein/flaxseed oil mixture. In choosing a protein powder, it is best to check the product label before you buy to make sure it is free of genetically modified ingredients such as soy.
If you prefer to prepare the recipe using yogurt instead of cottage cheese, you will find that Greek yogurts usually contain the highest amount of protein. On the other hand, they are also more expensive. Whole milk yogurts absorb more flax oil than low-fat and non-fat varieties.
Thoroughly mix the two ingredients at low speed until you achieve a creamy mixture and you don’t see any oil standing. Consume the mixture immediately. Do not make more than you need and do not refrigerate any leftovers! Put the cottage cheese or yogurt in your mixing bowl first, then add the flax oil. Be sure to shake the oil well before adding it to the bowl. For assistance, here is a link to a YouTube video that shows how to combine the flax oil and cottage cheese.

According to Dr. Budwig, patients who suffer from either liver or pancreatic cancer should begin the regimen slowly by taking only 1 teaspoon of the flax oil (along with two teaspoons of the yogurt or cottage cheese) each day to give the body time to adjust. When you feel your body is beginning to adapt to the protocol, you can increase your dosage. Those suffering from a serious illness such as terminal cancer should aim to build up their tolerance level so they can consume 4-8 tablespoons of the oil daily.
Please be advised that the Budwig Diet should be consumed as part of a standalone meal and not in conjunction with other foods, oils, or supplements. In addition, cancer cases do not resolve themselves overnight. Following the dietary plan, it could take 3-6 months or more. Other health issues have been known to respond more quickly.
Supercharge The Recipe With These Additional Ingredients
Sprinkle a tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed over the top of the mixture and mix it in by hand. The oil in flax seed turns rancid 15 minutes after grinding, so avoid pre-ground seed. Using a small coffee grinder, grind up whole seeds (either Brown or Golden) and store the rest in your refrigerator for later use. Be sure to wait until you’ve created your creamy recipe before adding the crushed flax seed kernels.
Other ingredients that you can add to your recipe are organic fruits and nuts (avoid peanuts, however), organic cocoa, organic coconut, cinnamon, and vanilla. Cinnamon mimics insulin, so if you are using the protocol to treat diabetes, you may need to take less insulin.
The Issue of Lignans
Unless it has been specially processed, flax oil contains fibrous particles called lignans (just like organic sulfur) that may offer protection against some forms of cancer.
The lignans in flaxseed appear to play a role in protecting against breast, colon, prostate, and perhaps skin cancer. Although further studies are needed, research undertaken at the University of Toronto indicates that women with breast cancer, regardless of the degree of cancer invasiveness, may benefit from treatment with flaxseed.

Flax oil comes in two basic varieties: high lignan and non-lignan. Which should you choose? The general consensus, especially if you plan to add freshly ground flax seeds to your mixture, is that you should buy non-lignan flax oil unless you are suffering from stomach cancer and are following the Cellect-Budwig or Bill Henderson protocol because your stomach needs the fiber. In addition, refrigerate your unused flax oil after you obtain the bottle. Don’t leave it out at room temperature.
Finally, if you suffer from cancer and plan to follow the Budwig Diet, you are encouraged to get in touch with Michael Vrentas of the Independent Cancer Research Foundation who can offer his expert advice about the lignan question as well as other aspects of the diet. Mr. Vrentas’ email address is:

Aren’t omega-3s the healthy and Essential Fatty Acids?
Atom Bergstrom | Solar Timing
http://solartiming.com/yellow-fat-disease-from-fish-oil-warning.php
Polyunsaturated fatty acids generate oxidative stress — an overload of free radicals. More oxidative stress creates more inflammation creates more lipo-pigments, namely, lipofuscin and ceroid “wear and tear” granules. Lipo-pigments are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (no saturated fats), and are the secondary cause of yellow fat disease. The primary cause is omega-3 fatty acids — ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).
THE MANY DANGERS OF EXCESS PUFA CONSUMPTION
https://paleoleap.com/many-dangers-of-excess-pufa-consumption/
PUFAs (polyunsaturated fatty acids) are very vulnerable to damage from heat, light, and oxygen. If they’re damaged by heat, light, and/or oxygen (for example, if they’re used as frying oil over and over again, or just left out in a clear bottle on the shelf for months in a supermarket), they can get oxidized.
Oxidized fats are dangerous because they’re inflammatory. Eating oxidized fats increases inflammation, and inflammation contributes to just about every chronic disease you could name, including heavy-hitters like obesity and diabetes.
Today, we get too much total PUFA and in the wrong ratio of O6 to O3. Here’s the Paleo line on how to fix it:
Get less total PUFA:
• Avoid industrial oils (corn oil, canola oil, “vegetable oil,” soybean oil…) and anything made with them.
• Eat nuts and seeds as condiments, not a main course.
• For cooking fats, use low-PUFA Paleo cooking fats, like coconut oil, butter, and olive oil.
Hello, I have been doing the Budwig protocol for about 6 weeks. Today I found out from my Doctor that I can’t tolerate dairy. So, what would you suggest for a replacement for cottage cheese. I have MSM powder and would like to mix that with the oil. 1/2teas= 1.8 g of Mehylsulfonylmethane.
NOTICE:
For those who are taking the Budwig Diet (e.g. Cellect-Budwig, Bill Henderson protocols, etc.) MSM and Vitamin C should NOT be used within three hours of the Budwig Diet, on both sides. It is perfectly safe to take MSM and Vitamin C, but not within the three hours on both sides.

Most people want a fat-free cottage cheese for the Budwig Diet and making cottage cheese from fat-free goat yoghurt is simple. There is an easy to follow illustrated guide on the Flax Farm site “How to turn organic yoghurt into fat-free organic cottage cheese”.
Hi, I am interested in following the Budwig Diet, would it be beneficial to mix the flaxseed oil with Kefir? I was thinking of using Tim’s Dairy Greek style yogurt, which is quite thick.
